The classic Mexican blanket, also known as a sarape, has been used in Mexican culture for centuries as a blanket, wall covering, table cloth, rug, and poncho. While the rebozo is considered a women's accessory, the sarape has traditionally been worn by men. This knit blanket has been inspired by the iconic striped and geometric patterns symbolic of the blankets in today's culture.

Traditionally made by women in tribal societies for personal and family use, Turkish kilim rugs use symbols and shapes to tell stories and express emotion and desire. Deep meaning is woven into the fabric in the form of motifs to represent fertility, safety, love, happiness, etc. The cross and triangular amulet shapes of this particular blanket design inspired by the iconic rugs represent protection and luck.
