Blanket scarves are one of my favorite fashion accessories. I love how they can be worn in so many different ways - from merely draped over the shoulders, swooped across the chest, or bundled up like a scarf. Each look creates a totally different mood and can really elevate a basic outfit.

Because blanket scarves are large and in charge, I set out to make the Geometry Wrap extra airy so that it would suit multiple seasons and be a perfect transition piece. What better stitch than the granny stitch? This ever-addicting stitch creates an open fabric that is breathable and airy while still having a nice weight to it to provide gorgeous drape.

I use geometry very often as a designer, and it was fun to apply a bit of that vibe to this piece. I chose super contrasting colors to really make the accent triangles pop, and alternating colors also creates a nice balance and visual interest.

This is an easy level crochet pattern and the techniques involved are double crochet, slip stitch, working into chain spaces, working in the round, and changing colors.

Notes: Wrap is worked in four granny squares that are seamed together. Squares are worked in joined, turned rounds and increase by 4 double crochet clusters per round (1 per side). Double crochet clusters are separated by 1 chain along each side and by 2 chains at each corner. When a color change occurs mid-round at a corner, the first chain is worked normally and the second chain is worked by drawing the new color through the loop on the hook, which still makes both chains the old color. Chart is provided.
