The Polished Collection
As the warm weather starts to trickle in, it's time to set aside the chunky yarn and pick up some spring/summer projects! I'm thrilled to be back with another eight piece seasonal collection in collab with Lion Brand Yarn using all of my favorite cotton and bamboo yarns that are perfect for higher temps. Let me present the Polished Collection!
Named after gemstones, each design in the Polished Collection is a refined, elegant take on a casual garment or accessory. With so many of us itching to feel put together these days after a year of lots of PJs and couch time, I wanted to create a whole collection of items that felt really professional but at the same time super comfortable and wearable. Each piece has thoughtful details and sophisticated finishing techniques to elevate them and take them from "homemade" to "handmade."
I love designing collections because it really allows me to sink into the feeling and mood I want to create with the pieces. I always have a feeling and a time/place in mind when I'm designing a single piece, but with a full collection it's like creating a whole little world!
This time around I decided to share the whole process with all of you - from choosing the yarns and sketching my initial ideas, to behind the scenes of the photo shoot(s) and all of the choices, successes, and blunders along the way. Lion Brand makes it so easy to design beautiful spring/summer looks with their big assortment of cotton and bamboo yarns. I chose to work with my three faves for the Polished Collection - 24/7 Cotton, Coboo, and Truboo. 24/7 Cotton has been a fave since it was first released back in 2016, and I've been designing more and more with Coboo in the last couple of years. Truboo is the newest yarn of the bunch, and it quickly became a fave as soon as I touched it! The drape and silky softness of this yarn is unmatched.
The collection features four knit and for crochet patterns, with a mix of five garments and three accessories. All of the patterns range from beginner-intermediate, with the majority being an advanced beginner/easy level. Let's have a look at each piece!
THE AGATE BUCKET BAG
