Reverb Wrap

Reverb Wrap Pattern by Two of Wands

Say hello to my new favorite wrap! After many requests for a knit version of the Resonance Wrap, I took the plunge and worked out an equally (if not more!) beautiful design and I'm so glad I did. The Reverb Wrap uses a fun mini bobble-type stitch to mimic the mesmerizing texture of the original crochet pattern and the results are stunning. To be honest I had already planned to make a knit version of the Resonance Wrap before I released it, primarily because I knew it would be something that could easily translate over into the craft and because I was dying to try out another 2-way fade color scheme. There are so many options for this in the Color Theory palette and I can't wait to see what all of you put together!

The key with these two wraps is to choose two 3-color fades and work them from light to dark in opposite directions so you get lovely contrast. Since I went with a bold color fade for the Resonance Wrap, I chose to work with all 6 neutrals in the Color Theory palette for the Reverb Wrap, using the cool tones in one direction and the warm tones in the other. Here are some examples of my favorite combos:

Ivory, Bone, and Nutmeg; Admiral, Amethyst, and Provence

Ivory, Bone, and Nutmeg; Peacock, Tourmaline, and Satellite

Ivory, Bone, and Nutmeg; Caper, Dijon, and Bee Pollen

Moonbeam, Satellite, and Thunder; Admiral, Stonewash, and Tourmaline

Moonbeam, Satellite, and Thunder; Raisin, Canyon, and Himalayan Salt

Moonbeam, Satellite, and Thunder; Dijon, Bee Pollen, and Bone

The Reverb Wrap uses a fun slip stitch technique similar to mosaic knitting where you'll only be working with one color at a time, alternating every two rows. The pattern has a garter stitch base which means the fabric won't curl, so it's excellent for a big swath of fabric like a wrap. Garter stitch, however, doesn't produce the nicest edges, especially when working in stripes, so I opted for an I-cord edge and I am in LOVE with how polished it makes the whole wrap feel. The single striping on the I-cord thanks to the slipped stitches looks so cool!

To complete the polished look I also opted for an I-cord bind off. This takes a little more time than a traditional bind off but it is so worth it! Once again the polished look ties it all together and makes this wrap so professional.

This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, knitting through the back loop, k2tog and k3tog decreases, YO increases, slipping stitches, and changing colors at the end of a row.

Wrap is worked flat side to side, increasing by 1 stitch on every right side row. All sts are slipped purlwise. When YOs are following by a sl st, the yarn will need to be wrapped twice around the needle to ensure an increase is made. When changing colors at the beginning of a RS row, twist the old color over the new color and pick up the new color from under the old color.
