The University Collection
I couldn't think of a better way to end the year than with the launch of my much anticipated winter collection along with six beautiful new colors of Hue + Me. It was such a pleasure to create yet another collection using this special yarn that I developed with Lion Brand, and I'm thrilled to present the University Collection!
Fall has always held a deep sense of nostalgia for me. The excitement and anticipation of going back to school, with a renewed sense of self and the opportunity to reinvent your style and wardrobe gets me excited to this day (some 20 years past my days in a classroom). I still get the most sentimental about music, movies, shows, etc from my school days because something about them carried more weight and memories than most things have since. Maybe that’s why I’m always drawn to teen dramas. Pretty Little Liars, anyone?
When I set out to design the University Collection, I worked with these concepts and mood in mind. I want each of these eight pieces to hold a sentimental value, something that gives them real life and longevity, something that makes you want to come back to them time and time again.
Whether they are worn on or off campus, these are timeless items that can reflect school spirit or simply compliment your everyday wardrobe. These are versatile staples that pair with perfect fall weather, crisp new jeans, and cozy layers.
The now 24 color palette of Hue + Me made this collection even more fun to design. With endless color combos, it's a great opportunity to experiment with pairings that may speak to your favorite sports team, school colors, or just your current fave shades of the season. This bulky weight yarn makes these projects super quick and satisfying and the easy care nature of the wool/acrylic blend adds to their heirloom quality.
As with my spring/summer 2021 Polished Collection, I shared lots of behind-the-scenes footage with all of you as I developed the University Collection. The University Collection features four knit and four crochet patterns, with a mix of garments and accessories. All of the patterns range from beginner-intermediate, with the majority being an advanced beginner/easy level. Let's have a look at each piece!
