Art History Make-Along

Hello friends! Allow me to introduce my latest KAL/CAL: The Art History Make-Along! This is the third themed MAL I've hosted (the previous ones being the Landscape and Vista Wrap Knit Along and Crochet Along in 2024 using Color Theory, and the Genres Make Along in 2025 for the Storyteller and Book Club Wraps made with Hue + Me), and once again I've created a fun, symbolism-rich experience that celebrates color exploration as we kick off the fall season. This time around we will be working with my newest Lion Brand collab yarn, Cottino, and the theme is Art History.

Zodiac Icons Blanket: Gemini

Welcome to Gemini season! This is one of my favorite astrology seasons, and I’ve often heard that Geminis and Sagittariuses (like myself) have a close bond, so that makes sense! This is the first air sign of the year, and it’s a time for excitement, variety, and socializing.

Zodiac Icons Blanket: Aries

Aries is a special season for both our resident astrologer Ramona and myself. It was at Ramona’s birthday party on April 2nd, 2010 (the night before her actual bday) that I met my longtime partner Nick! So we both have a lot to celebrate in the coming weeks. Aries marks the actual beginning of the zodiac calendar …

Zodiac Icons Blanket: Pisces

I like to think of Pisces season as a time to regroup, envision what I want next, and make a plan to get there. It’s the “law of attraction” part of zodiac for me, so I’m hoping to use this month ahead to really focus and dream about what I want the rest of the year to look like.

Zodiac Icons Blanket: Sagittarius

I might be biased since this is my sign, but Sagittarius season is one of my faves. There is a festive aura in the air with the holidays approaching, and the excitement of the first snowfall (in the northern hemisphere!) and seeing twinkle lights adorn houses is always so fun. With this new season also comes a new square for our blanket of course :)
